Olunje is a strong academic averaging 80% throughout primary school. He hopes to eventually attend university to study Actuarial Science. He played A team rugby and cricket in primary school. He is originally from Cape Town. His father works in Johannesburg, but Olunje chose to stay in Cape Town to finish his primary schooling. He has an older brother who is in Grade 11 at KES.
Olunje’s father applied for a TAG Foundation scholarship because he wanted him to join his brother and the family were delighted when it was granted. He says this school is vastly different to his last one, but he is getting used to it. The schoolwork is tough and the boys have to carry all their books around with them, but he says he is settling in. He is grateful for the opportunity to attend a prestigious school like KES as he feels being here is a huge steppingstone towards his goals.
Olunje is enjoying hostel life and has had some enjoyable nights with the boys. He is also making friends he knows he is going to keep for a long time.
